Susan's Story

I hope my friends remember me being a nice girl. And funny, strong and pretty. But that was then, this is now. I am strong spiritually and I have been told I`m a good listener and a good mother. Playing games on the computer or reading. I like walks also but can`t as much as I used to because of back and hip injuries. I`m disabled. I still get out though. Good days, bad days. I remember when I was younger I used to run everywhere. And even as I got older I could still run fairly fast. My ex-husband said I`d always out distance him. I wonder if I had taken track, what would have become of me if anything. My mom is my hero because despite what other people thought back then she worked full time after my dad died, and was pregnant with my sister Sherry. Then she worked two jobs for a while then went to school and trained for key punching. She got a good job at the School Employee`s Retirement building and had a night job with that. She raised 6 kids by herself. She did have the Lord on her side though. Good thing. I moved to Columbus because I wanted to be away from home. But then I got married, had 2 beautiful children, got a divorce after 5 years ,and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana later because of an abusive relationship with a boyfriend. We did alright there. The kids and I loved it and formed good friends there especially one in particular. Her name is Della and she`s another hero of mine. She and I ran an ice cream company. Boy, I never had so much fun in my life. One of my best friends got me to go rent a truck and sell ice cream and I ended up staying for about 8 years. My daughter still lives there with her husband and two children and also his mom, dad, sister and two brother`s. They own their own landscaping business. My son is a self taught bassist and had his own band along with a friend named Lee. It was called Free Smut. They are...Expand for more
hard, head banging music and have a large following and are on the web(MySpace). My son decided to do something else with his life and is in the Army. He`s training to be a scout and later wants to train for helicopter flying. I came back to Grove City with my sister Sandi (another hero of mine) and helped her out and then she helped me. We had both lost jobs, her`s due to a machine taking her job at the Dispatch, mine due to illness. Then we decided to buy a home and the Lord lead us away from Grove City to the Franklinton area. I love it, Sandi loves it. But I miss having things closer to me and my mom, brother and sister are there not to mention old school friends although I didn`t get to reach out to them. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Don Creamer, because I`d like to apologize to him for blowing up over the phone. He was a great guy and we were supposed to get married. Who knows where we would be now. Ha ha.. I`d also like to see my best friend in high school, and that is Carol Groves. I sure miss her. If we have a reunion, people sure will be surprised with all this salt and pepper hair I`ve gotten. If I won $100 million, I'd give $10,000 of it to my church, then spend the rest on my family, and friends and invest some and give to a charity. I live with my sister Sandi. She`s really trying to get her life together. We (mostly her) minister to the kids in the Franklinton area there. They are some cool kids. When I was a teenager, I would take this old camera and sit in a tree in our back yard and take pictures of the birds and wild life. There were these woods close to the high school, and I would go into them and get lost for hours all by myself. I didn`t think about any thing happening to me. I was one with nature. I wish I had some of those old pictures.
