Susan's Story

Life...updating: after 9 years of togetherness my Mum is no longer with me. She passed at 106 3/4 December, 2015, a sad time but according to her, too long here! She missed her friends, sisters, and home; even though we had fun social activities together it wasn't the same for her. So "miss you, Mum" and may the Lord keep you well till you greet me once again! (10/7/16) Life is good, but it's best when God is in control of it! He takes you all sorts of places, keeps you safe, watches over you, gives you the desires of your heart...all because He loves you. After all, He put on humanity, came to earth to live among us, and died for us that we can someday live in heaven and be with Him. Who else do you know who would do that! God knows the plans He has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future. Just ask Him. He can't wait to tell you! He gave me 4 wonderful sons, and now 4 darling g'kids-what's next? He knows. School...time marches on...fun to reread this after so long ago posting. I do still remember all of the following and smile thinking about them. School memories...the...Expand for more
sr show remains in my memory because I met many kids I never knew, but who said they knew me. It was a great experience. Rifle club is another memory, and I have a marksmanship pin to remind me of a skill I acquired. My dearest friend in high school, Ann Parker, is still a dear friend. We used to have lots of those girl talks after school and on the phone. We keep in touch and 2 yrs ago got to spend a wonderful afternoon, over ice cream cones, catching up. Then there was the trampoline center by the drive in...those in cahoots know who they are. We did have fun, didn't we?! The things that stand out most in my mind are of my dad driving some neighbor kids (Walter Brown & Donald Shaw) and me to school; talking and giggling in home room; watching out the windows over the parking lot near the end of the day; walking home and stopping for a 25 cent chocolate chip ice cream cone at Smiley's; wandering around Alves for a while on the way; wishing I had a horse when I walked past Bestick's corral; playing with my dog or kitty when I got home. Maybe some of you could jog my memory with other goings on...I'd love to hear from you.
