Life - updated 5-10-11 After graduating from Southwest High, I moved with my family to Tampa, Florida where I attended USF (University of South Florida). I received a BA in Spanish and minored in French and Internatl. Studies. In 1976, I began my Master's Program for foreign language education but then I got married and moved to Columbus, Ohio where all that I had learned in college was of little value. My husband's family owned a business and I worked with them until the birth of our first son in 1981. We had two more little boys during the next three years and I had my hands full. I opened my own decorating business in 1989 which was fortunate since my marriage would not last another two years. When my two oldest boys were on their own and my youngest was in high school, I went after my original dream...to teach. In 1999, I registered at The Ohio State University to get my Master's in Education (this time elementary ed.) I graduated in 2002 (President George W. Bush spoke at my graduation!!) and I taught 1st grade in a little town north of Columbus for three years. I was happy to discover that I do love teaching!! I moved back to Port Richey, Florida in 2005, taught 1st grade that first year and then looped in 2006 with my students to 2nd grade. I moved up to third grade in 2007 and I am still there;-) My mom, my brothers and their families live nearby but my three wonderful sons are still living in the Buckeye state.
