Susan's Story
Briefly, here's what I've done for the past 40 years: graduated from MSU, moved to Chicago (briefly) and then Boston, where I got married and worked for DEC for 17 years. Loved Boston. Had a baby at 39, stayed home when she started calling the daycare ladies Mommy. My husband I took buyouts from DEC when the $10B company started melting down, and we moved to Hilton Head. Served on local school board (mostly to keep Christian Coalition from taking it over), but schools were awful so we moved to L.A. My husband was diagnosed with leukemia in 2004 and died two years later. I went back to college and got a teaching degree, taught one year, and moved back East. (I now live in Concord, MA.) My daughter graduated from UC Berkeley (known as Cal to natives) in 2005 and is living in San Fran...Expand for more
cisco. (She had intended to move back East with me, but could only find a job in SF--(snif snif) She's working for Google, has a great apartment in the Mission District, lots of friends. I'm too old to get a full-time teaching job here (way too many young women with MAs in English Lit) so I substitute teach and do a bit of tutoring. (Thank God for pensions and Social Security, or I'd be in trouble.) I'm still recognizable from my HS pictures (albeit more jowly and 30 pounds fatter)and in spite of the loss of my husband, think I've had a pretty good life so far. And living in downtown historic Concord is SO cool!
I'd like to come to the 45th reunion of the Class of 1966, but lost the phone message from Nancy Coon! So if someone reads this, please contact me at 818 730 1336 (cell).
