Susan's Story
Life
I am married to the sweetest and most gorgeous man, Derek Daniel. He's owner/director of D&B Examinations an ABL auditing company. We have 2 precious children 14 months apart Matthew(5) and Sara (4). I am fortunate to be able to stay home with our children and be my husbands unofficial (unpaid) administrative assistant...I get to run errands, mail, fedex, deposit payroll checks...nothing too exciting!
College
I graduated from East Texas Baptist University in 1998 with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Political Science. I was headed to Law school until I realized how in debt I was from my Bachelors. So I started teaching...and then started my Masters trough Texas A&M Commerce. When I got married I didn't see the need to get a Masters right away.... I do wish I had finished my Masters. Workplace
My first yr teaching I taught ADHD 6th graders. The next year I moved to 1st-3rd grade, which I loved! The next year I decided to make a career change to teaching emotionally disturbed 5th and 6th graders at Richardson ISD. I hated it! Even my professors at A&M Commerce were shocked by the admistration and the situation I was in (even came and observed and saw it first hand). So when Derek and I got married I decided I didn't need that career path and went back to teaching ADHD 1st-3rd graders for the next few years and enjoyed it. Until I got pregnant with Matthew!!! Sara followed very closely behind so I am now a stay at home mommy. I am considering going back to teaching after all my children are in school...yes, I am actually considering a 3rd in the near future!
