Susan's Story

I had been in two different high schools (Springfield, Ohio South High School and Mankato, MN High School) by the time my family moved to Scottsburg, Indiana in 1969, so I never felt the community closeness of growing up together as many of my classmates did. However, I was proud to be part of the graduating class that was the last in the old building and the first one in the new location. I worked at Attorney Don Bonsett's office as a legal secretary for 6 years and then moved to Louisville after my marriage to Gary Reasor in 1977. I then worked as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Louisville Public Defender, where we represented indigents in criminal cases, handling many high profile death penalty cases. I went on to graduate from the University of Louisville with a BFA in Theater Performance. After moving to the Cincinnati area after my husband graduated from medical school, I was able to add to my acting resume there by doing many plays, murder mystery dinner theater, tv commercials, voice work, corporate training films, and one indie, and also worked at Stage One Children’s Theater. I am a member of SAG-AFTRA, and have been on the nominating committee for the SAG Awards....Expand for more
We moved back to Louisville in 1998 where my husband opened his pain management practice, and I was his Office Manager for many years. He not only does injections, pump and stimulator implantation, plus cancer pain relief, but he also is one of the first doctors in Louisville to do stem cell regeneration of the back to repair torn or bulging discs with a patient's own harvested stem cells. I am so proud of him; we have been married for 44 years. During this time, I took over 30 credit hours of art at Bellarmine University, hoping to get a Masters in Art Therapy, but just decided to do acrylic art on my own and sell paintings instead. Our son and sweet daughter-in-law live close by and I was able to babysit my granddaughter Vivian full time for over 4 years. After that, I was very involved in caretaking for several family members. I plan to get back to painting, taking classes, gardening, and traveling. I have been to Paris, France several times and love visiting the art museums and historic sites. Both my husband and I are very active in our church - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - and just completed a 7-year calling, working with the Young Single Adults congregation. Life is good!
