Susan's Story

The past year has been a total whirlwind of change for me. I met my husband in October of '07 while on vacation in Myrtle Beach...moved down to Jacksonville North Carolina in January of '08...and got married in March of '08. My husband Jeff is a staff sergeant in U.S. Marine Corps and we are currently stationed here in North Carolina at Camp Lejeune. We will be moving in Feburary but not sure where the next stop will be. My husband is a career Marine so moving around alot is a common occurence for us. My family all live in LaPorte now and they are doing pretty well. My nephew Billy is now 20 and in the U.S. Army...my niece Katie is 17 and a Junior in high school...I also have a another nephew who is in high school and a niece who just turned 3. My mother is living in LaPorte with my sister and her family. I don't have any children yet but plan to have some in the next couple years. I don't have any pets although I would love to have a dog but sin...Expand for more
ce we live in an apartment and move every three years it doesn't really make sense to get one right now. I'm taking a long needed break from work right now. I worked for Macy's for the past 13 yrs as an Area Sales Manager but now I am a housewife...at least until we move to the next place. I like being down here on the southeastern coast...I have to admit it has been a bit of adjustment living down here. I miss being so close to Chicago...miss going to Cubs games...miss shopping on Michigan Ave...miss hanging out with my girlfriends after work for a drink. But having low's of 50 in the middle of winter and no snow totally makes up for everything else. Of course my amazing husband totally makes it worth it. I am a huge Cubs fan and will always be...I love to go see live music...I love to travel...I love to try out new restaurants ...I love to go to the spa and get a massage and good highlights...I love to go shopping and find a great pair of shoes.
