Sue's Story

2022. I really hoped when it started out that the pandemic would be over, and the world could get back to living. However, as we all know 'tis not the case. I feel that this pandemic will, in some form, always be with us and we as a people will learn to adapt and live the 'new' normal as best we can. ALWAYS AN ORIENTAL. Reading this over again, I see that I skipped 2021. Two words: IT SUCKED. I'll not complain though because I'm still feisty and kicking. We have lost classmates and so much more, but we must forge ahead and hope for better times. Time for a new update: 2020, what more can be said. So much sadness and loss from this year. Can't really say I wish it was over because it won't bring back the ones I've lost (my mom, my Beagle Rylee, my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and just as many in 2019. However, this has been a hard year on all of the world. Be diligent, wear the masks, distance 6 feet and WASH THOSE HANDS, use the hand sanitizer but most of all be safe and use common sense so you can be protected as well as your loved ones. Bless you all, Merry Christmas and hopefully a Happy Healthy New Year. Over and out. I hope to be writing something this time next year and wi...Expand for more
th much better news. Be safe my friends. Update: it is now 2019 and it's almost half over but life is good in some aspects of my life while other parts of me have failed. Such is life. The failure has been a teaching moment that I've learned from. The best part is I've discovered things about myself that have been both surprising and very enjoyable. It is what I make of this newfound discovery and I'm looking forward to more surprises and enjoyment. The flock has left and taken her dog with her so the proverbial empty nest is back. Works for me!!!! LOL. Even though it rained on our 70th birthday party, mother nature didn't dampen the Oriental spirit within those who attended. EAST HIGH ORIENTALS ROCK. Two years have passed since my last writing. 2017 is now half over and life is okay. One of my flock has returned to the nest and I've gained (I mean Rylee, my Beagle has gained) a girlfriend, Roxi. Looking forward to the 70th birthday party for the Class of 66. I'm winding down and not looking forward to full retirement but hey, I've earned it. Hope to see as many of you as possible next year for the 70th birthday party reunion. "Til then, GO ORIENTALS.

I'm going to miss you so very much brother. Love you. 💔
Here's a blast from the past. This picture was taken Oct. 28, 1989 Does anyone, besides those who know them, recognize these two?
Rylee is sooooo tired! So far, he's walked me but the rest of the morning I have watered the front and back plants and garden, pulled weeds and mowed AND he's tired!!! Gotta love him though.
My 50th birthday present to myself. Just a twig 18 years ago and now a bee u tee ful display of gold and red.

I worked on this for three years. Finished it in 2008. Decided after finishing it that I wouldn't make it as it was intended (lap quilt) but instead it's always been used as a table cloth. Started out on mother's table a
I miss you brother Gene and love you much. Doesn't seem like five years have passed but I think of you every day.

I MISS SUMMER. It's dumping buckets of rain. No sunshine today.
The other photo was just the beginning of the morning glories. This is the monster that grew from it. And I still miss summer.
