Susan's Story
Life
Life, since graduating from Bogie, has been interesting to say the least. I hardly know where to start...........
I have two wonderful sons, Sean (36) and Ian (33), two daughters-in-law, Jenelle (married to Sean) and Karen (married to Ian). Sean and Jenelle live in Jacksonville with their three children, Jordan (9), Laurel (6) and Riley (2 1/2). Laurel is the only granddaughter, so far. Ian and Karen live in Memphis with Michael (6), who is my step-grandson.
Twenty-five years of my life, since graduation, was spent as a legal assistant. I think I covered about all practices of law, during that time, except for Real Estate - and I did a little of that, working after hours for a Real Estate attorney, typing up leases. AARGH!!! For the most part, I worked for an insurance defense lawfirm for a period of fourteen years, as assistant to one of the partners. Interesting work, but preparing for trials is extremely stressful and eventually burned me out.

eally had no intention of ever remarrying. He changed my mind and we had 21 wonderful years together. John developed ALS (Lou Gherig's disese) late in 2002 and he bravely fought his fight until September 20, 2005. As with everything else difficult in life, John faced his battle head on, and dealt with it with that ever present dignity and strength of character I loved in him. I will miss him forever and still can't truly come to terms with the fact he is not here with me. He was my hero and playmate. His creative sense of humor was always actively involved in finding ways to tease me - and I never knew what was coming next. I was his straight man and thoroughly enjoyed the pranks he was always playing on me.
Don't know what my future holds. There's always the lawn to mow, beds to be mulched and trees to be trimmed around here. I enjoy staying outside and being active, but I also like sitting on the back porch, with a SA Boston Lager or glass of Cabernet, listening to good jazz and watching the night fall.
Guess my path will go wherever God decides to lead me.........
