Susan's Story
Life
I've been married 34 years, have three grown sons and one daughter-in-law as of May 04. In 1978 we moved to Orange County in Southern California, and can't imagine living anywhere else.
I've had various careers in my life, and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. After graduating from Quincy College, I taught elementary school for about five years. During the time my children were little, I worked part-time in the music department of a junior college. As the kids got older, I worked for a couple of airlines, and then as an airport representative at LAX for a travel agency that specialized the entertainment community. I'd meet and greet high profile clients, and help them through the airport and onto their planes. In the mid-nineties, I took classes at the local JC in graphics, and earned a certificate in graphic design and another one in graphic illustration. shop. Presently I'm working on photography to build my portfolio with hopes that I might display some of my work in shows or in art fairs.
I enjoy singing in choirs, and presently am singing in the Saddleback Master Chorale and the San Clemente Choral Society. Choral singing has led me to a wonderful experiences in my life. In 1984, I was priviledged to sing in the 1000 voice choir at the Opening Ceremonies of the LA Olympics. In 2001, I was a member of a 750 voice choir that sang Verdi's Requiem in St. Pauls Outside the Walls Basilica in Rome. On that trip, I was also able to sing in the Sistine Chapel, and will remain one of the top experiences in my life.
I enjoy travel, and have had the opportunity to travel to Europe several time, Argentina once, and China. My husband and I are planning a trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in March. As I am an amateur photographer, these two of my interests blend well together.
