Susan's Story
Life
After graduation I went to one semester at NEO. At that time, I had my mind everywhere except school so I decided to join the Navy. In July 1992, just before I left for boot camp I married Ken Murphy. In the Navy, I became a Crypto Tech Maintenance and repaired electroic communications equipment. We were stationed in Okinawa Japan from 1993 to 1997. While in Okinawa, I pursued my Associates Degree in General Studies at the University of Maryland and received that degree in 1998. moved to Albuquerque, NM to take a job at Intel Corporation in 1998. At Intel, I worked as a manufacturing technician. After about 10 months, I decided to become a Process Certified MT. I was then more of a quality control tech. I began going to school at the University of Phoenix in 1999 to pursue a Bachelors degree in Information Systems Management. After 2 years at Intel, I had an opportunity to move into engineering. I am now a Process Engineer and really enjoy that job. I finished my degree. Ken and I will celebrate our 12th anniversary on July 12, 2004.
