Susan's Story
Life
My son, Quinton, and I have had some big changes this year. We recently moved from Gilroy to Sacramento. I am teaching at Sacramento High school. Sac High was recently opened as a charter school controlled by St. Hope Corp, a non-profit organization founded by former NBA star Kevin Johnson. This was the opportunity of a lifetime and I still feel every day that it is a dream come true. I am teaching English to a diverse, energetic, passionate community of students who have made me feel like I am home.
As for Quitnon, he is three as of Dec. 13 and enjoys preschool and driving his mother crazy. He is beautiful, articulate, stubborn and opinionated (Bobby and I do not know where it comes from!)
All in all, life is good.

College
I attended CSU Monterey Bay. The time I was at CSUMB was life changing, exhillerating and challenging. They are years I will never forget from the classes I took, the intimate relationship with professors and the life-long friends that I made. I owe so much to the people of CSUMB for the person I am today both as an educator, a member of my community and as a mother.
Workplace
