Susan's Story
There are probably not many people who remember me. I wasn't very active in after-school programs, I worked most of my Jr. and Sr. high school years. I worked either babysitting, or doing fast-food or clerical jobs. My last job in Staunton was in my senior year. I worked for an attorney near the courthouse. After that, I went to VCU in Richmond. I didn't graduate from there though, I came back home to Staunton, and got married to a Waynesboro boy in 1972. Unfortunately, that ended in divorce in 1977. I remarried in 1981 and traveled around the country with my husband, who was in the military.
Since 1991, I have been living in the Richmond area, and now live on a farm in Dinwiddie County, Va. near McKenney. I know! You've probably never heard of McKenney, Va. Believe me it is way out in the boonies. But it is nice here, and just an hour south of Richmond.

ich, but I can still pay the bills. I have a 33 yr.-old daughter, Courtney, and two grandchildren, a boy and a girl. My life is pretty uneventful here, but I enjoy the small town/country atmosphere. I have a horse and like to ride when I get time. I enjoy doing things with my grandchildren, even though they are older now (12 and 16) and like to spend more time with their friends than Nana.
You may not remember me, but you may remember other members of my family. My sister Carol, was a year ahead of me and graduated in 1970. I have two brothers who went to Lee, John and Stevie Wade. You may remember them. I don't have a lot of memories to share, but I did enjoy my school years and the few friends that I spent time with. I had a few friends, and boyfriends that went to other schools in the county, since I was always looking to ride horses, therefore I had more contact with county teens. I did ride a little at the old stables that were at the park where the lake is now. There was a big round barn and an old grandstand which was part of the fairgrounds during the 60's in Staunton. Does anyone remember that!
