(I got the chance of a lifetime to hear her speak in 1986 when I attended the Texas Bluebonnets Girls State. She gave an inspiring and remarkable speech that really changed my life. I got to see her speak again after her governorship in the middle 90s when she actually came to little 'ol Livingston to appear at the yearly Chamber of Commerce awards banquet-and I bribed my way into that!)".
