Susan's Story
I met Charlie Weigel (Butch) when we were in school together in 1968. We dated for four years before we married in December of 1972. My Father was in memorial hospital dying from emphysema. We were married at memorial hospital chapel so my dad could be there. No one had ever used the chapel for that before, w were the first ones. sadly my dad died six days later. n in 1988 we were blessed with another son Christopher Edward. We went on to raise our sons in East Brainerd, and lived there for thirty eight years. I lost Charlie on the day April 27 2011,the day that devastated Chattanooga with tornadoes. Joshua is married for ten years now to a beautiful girl, Emily Bassler Weigel. Christopher is still with me, and we moved to east ridge to be close to my mother who lives in east ridge.
