Susan's Story
I moved to Baltimore in 1971, got married in 1972 and had 3 children (Jason 34, Amanda 32, Rachel 25). I loved living in Baltimore and may one day return since both Jason and Amanda are living there. I divorced in 1985 and returned to good old Beaver County to raise the kids in a more rural environment. Given that they all graduated from South Side HS, I think I definitely achieved the "rural" goal.
One weird thing about my life is although I have a degree in Nuclear Technology, my job is executive assistant to the Senior VP and General Counsel for an internationally known package delivery company--not the brown one. My job is hectic, challenging and always interesting, but I sometimes have to laugh at the thought of me (who could care less about power and position) working with people who regularly make decisions that impact 25,000+ people. Since I've always felt things happen for a reason, someone somewhere thinks this is where I belong right now so I'll enjoy the ride whereve...Expand for more
r it takes me.
I've noticed so many of my classmates have grandchildren, but I have yet to be blessed with "real" grandkids. The closest I've come is my 6 furry grand-animals whom my children treat like kids. They have as many toys and treats as any spoiled toddler might have! Oh well, one day they'll decide they want families but till then it sure saves on Christmas gifts.
Those of you who remember me must also remember my ever-present sidekick, Alice Gray (sometimes referred to as my evil minion). Well, we've remained friends throughout the years and talk or get together regularly. She lives in Bellevue with her charming hubby, Rich, who shudders every time he answers the phone and hears my voice on the other end. He knows Alice and I will spend the next 30 or 60 or 90 minutes howling with laughter over some inane thing that no one else even understands. As Mrs. Hickey used to ask when she passed us in the hallway, "Do you two EVER stop giggling?" (The answer is NOOOOO!)
