Susan's Story
Life
I got married in 1979 to Keith Hartline, my daughters father. We divorced in 1986. I then married Cecil Hardin, my son's father and we were married when he died as a result of a car accident in August 2001. I went to Mitchell from Jan. 2002 until May 2004 and graduated with two associates degrees. I have recently become a grandmother. My daughter, Laura, just had a baby girl. She was born early and is in the NICU at Forsyth right now. Laura was 29 weeks and 5 days oregnant when Lilly was born on May 10, 2005. Lilly has been our little miracle and the joy of my life. I enjoy spending time with her and being a granny. I started working for RHA Health Services in July 2005. Laura works for Lake Norman Security and really enjoys her job. an, is currently going to Mitchell Community college. He will transfer to a four year college in a year. He is majoring in psychology. I have been in a relationship for a little over a year now after not being in one for many years. So far, so good.
College
I loved going to college. I earned my associates degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and on National Dean's list. I am currently working for RHA Health Services as a Habilitation Technician. I have been there almost two years.
Workplace
I starting working for RHA Health Services in July of 2005 as a Habilitation Technician II. We work with dual diagnosis service users who are both mentally retarded and have mental disorders too. It is a rewarding job, but can be quite stressful sometimes.
