Susan's Story
I graduated from a small, private college in Lexington, KY, with a degree in Business, specializing in Human Resources. Was hired by Macy's Atlanta for their management training program - ran the dress department in one of their largest stores. Then joined GE Capital's Management Development Program and worked in Human Resources there. At church, I met and married a wonderful Georgia Tech engineering graduate who had just finished his MBA and worked for Delta. We began traveling the world, and still do whenever possible. Finally, I worked in H.R. for a hospital until my son was born (on the 4th of July!). Since then, I've been a stay-at-home mom, and have loved having time to volunteer at school and church. Six years ago, my husband started his own consulting business, and I've helped him some with that. In Peachtree City, I've gotten involved with my sorority's local alumnae group, and also help lead a cultural exchange group of Japanese executives' wives. My son is now halfway through Georgia Tech and just turned 21 - lives in a 23-story Atlanta apartment building with a pool on its roof - very cool. Life is good, and I am truly thankful.
