Susie's Story

I'm a Southern Il. Redneck gal... Damn proud of it! Born with a fishing pole and gun in my hand. My love of fishing and hunting came from my father..... It's not till they are gone that those memories come flooding back. . My lfe changed forever when our son died Aug. 14, 2013 in a farming accident. He was our only child. A hard working cowboy. Your take a different look at life when you loose a child. What seemed important doesn't seem to matter anymore. You cherish life more. It's like your heart has been taken out of your body and shattered into a millon pieces. Never finding all the peices to put it back together. Christmas will be so different this year. Not having any children around. Lived most of my life in Maryville till my divorce in 1994 ( which I learned even if you have lived in a town all your life. They can still stab you in the back by member's of the community). Very abusive. 15 years. Carrying an injury & memories that seem to linger. So I moved to Wyoming. Met a guy who lead a cowboy life and also outftted (hunting guide). Who's now retired. Been married close to 20 years. We have a Border Collie named Missy who brings so much joy into our life. She was a Christmas gift from our son Ty last year..So she will always hold our hearts. Forever. Before moving here I never knew what a sugar beet was Yes, they make sugar from them. Fish for trout. Been up close to a rattesnake or hold their rattles in my hand. Seen a grizzly up close. Ride a snow moblie. Seen a moose up close.Walked in the ruts of the wagon wheels of the Oregon Trail. Went through South Pass (Morman Trail). In 2003 spent 3 weeks in ICU at the VA Hosp. In SLC. For brain surgery to remove a tumor. Camp in the Big Horn Mtns. Should of seen the boullers we had to drive over to get here. Scary but fun. Spend th night in Silver Gate and hear a grizzly out by your window. The Grand Teton's. Awesome sight..... Breathtaking...... So many first. And more to experience.... Since moving here my favorite food is now "Rocky Mtn.Oysters" (bull nuts). They are the best. Prime Rib from the Irma Resturant. Use to be owned by Bufflao Bill & my husands Great Great grandfather Jones for about hour (long story). It melts in your mouth. Love driving through Yellowstone Park. It's about an hr's drive from our home. I've taken up photography. So I have hundreds of pictures from forest fires, grizzly bears, sunset's and elk. Snow on the mtn;s. It's a different life style here. We have 2 grocery stores. Wal-Mart and Albertsens. Wal-Mart is the the only big store we have here. If you want to shop at other stores you need to go o Billings, Mt. which is 150 miles one way. We don't think twice about driving up there and shop for a day then drive home. You have to want this way of life to live here. Hate to say most people from back there would never make it living here. To be able to wake up in the morning and see the Mtn's from your door step is breathtaking. And deer in my yard. Mulies. Do you have that back there?? High School.... Have to say was not a good experience.... I fell through the gap (not a jock, deffently not a cheerleader). It seemed like that's all that ma...Expand for more
tter. I never could fiqure out why the cheerleaders we're so mean to everyone. I never did any thing wrong to them..All well. Life goes on. I still think I would of never got into the crowd that I did if I would of been treated with respect. Which they demanded from others but would never give to others. I remember thier names. They know who they are. I'm not the only one who feel's this way. There are other's. That's why I never attended any reunions. Why should I go. Spend all that money. To be around people who wouldn't talk to me in school? Do you undrstand how much pain all of you inflicted on people's lives? I guess that is what they call "Bullying" now.... Doesn't mater no one would of listened if we repoted you. You was cheeleaders. They wouldn't do that. Well you did! Enough of that BS. Let's see...... I would love to write. I have wrote some short stories which people ave read & loved. Little scared about going any farther. Made some great friends. LC you will always be in my heart. My heart is yours. My best bud Cindy died in 1981. She was assulted and murdered. Still bothered with her death. Then I lost my son. Lost part of my heart. I don't have anymore to loose. But God has helped me through thier deaths and he will guide me through anything more that comes my way. Reading..... Pharamoral. Any books along the story line of "Fifty Shades" Susan Day. Books by James Van Prague. John Edwards. Jerry Bartlett. Vampires. Ghost. I have been told I am a sensitive. I hear ghosts. But I do not see them or can communicate with th. I could do the later if i tried. Just feel I am fine with the way I am for now. So I do read alot on that subject. As for "Fifity". Loved the story and subject line. Open your mind to another life style that people enjoy. I mean you hear about. Now E.L. James has talked about it. I enjoyed the book. Read it 7 times. I collect Breyer Horse's. Actually anything to do with horses. Ty trained horses. I make quilts ang give them away to the needy. Thrift stores are my down fall. Love to go through somebody else's junk! Listening to music...... Justine Timberlake to Blake Shelton. 50's music to present. Just depends on my mood. In the evening I mainly listen to classical. Mellow out before bed. Movies....... I will watch all most anything except blood and gore. No horror movie. Waste of film. Just depend's on my mood. What do I miss not living there....... Cardinals Baseball. Apple & Peach farms. Home made cider. German food & fried fish. Cat fishing. Trout lineing.... Even those I miss these things. I would never leave here. I have found peace here.Which most people search all their lives and never find. My Bucket list..... Have a log cabin. Wrap around poarch. 50 acres. Barn w/ 6 stalls. Raise black paint horses. Up in the mtn's. Also raise border collies & aussies. And my dream truck. Dodge Ram. Red Dullay. 3500. Well this is my story. No degree's. Oh, there is. Degree of "Hard Knocks". I have had a lot. But the have made me into what I am. See I now except what life has given me. I may not like it. But it is what it is. God is by my side. What more do I need? God's Blessings to everyone, Susie
