Suzanne's Story
Life
I have come a long way from my former life at Smoky Hill High School. I would like to say I had fond memories of the place, but that would not be the truth. But what is the truth is that I am grateful for all of the negative situations, challenges and obstacles that were part of my journey growing up and even am grateful for those people who were in my life that were the source of those events, as they helped shaped me into the person I am today, and I like how I turned out. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, good and bad and that nothing happens by accident. Negative people and events give us a chance to choose to either fall victim to them/it or to choose to grow and become stronger. I chose to become stronger.
I was married for 18 years but divorced in 2005. My ex and I are still friends and now former business partners. I never had children (the 2-legged variety) but have 2 dogs, 5 cats (all rescues), 13 feral cats that I have had fixed, feed and shelter, and 2 Horses. In 2010, I sold out my ownership in my watch & jewelry store in Houston, TX and have enjoyed being semi-retired until 2011. But am moving onward to the future and the next chapter of my life. Kind of exciting to be starting something new.
In 2011, I had an opportunity of a lifetime offered to me. Until early 2017, I worked for the most amazing people who are in the...Expand for more
O&G industry and also own an Air Charter Company. Those years were the most fun and also the most challenging, I have ever had working in my entire career. It was a lot of hard work and deadlines, but the people I have met and gotten to know are beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I worked here until early 2017 when life present a new opportunity. I thank God every day for all of the blessings in my life.
I used to teach Natural Horsemanship (aka Horse Whispering) and have traveled with my horses throughout Texas and Colorado. I have studied and ridden with some of the finest horseman in the country during the last 35 years, learning everything from Hunter/Jumpers, Reining, and Dressage and of course Natural Horsemanship. In addition, I finished schooling to become a certified Saddle Fitter by the Master Saddlers Association. With the demands of my job in 2011, I no longer was able to teach as I didn't have the time, but I still have my horses and farm, and love having them in my life.
I live in Houston, Texas and have for the last 35 years and it has been very good for me, although I would prefer to spend my summers in Colorado, much less heat & humidity. I am fortunate enough to have had many of my dreams become reality and have learned that life is way to0oshort to be taken so seriously, - Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much and Make No Excuses!
