Suzanne's Story

The thing that DID surprise everyone the most at my reunion was that I have 6 kids and homeschool. I guess I never seemed like the type that would become totally domesticated! We have graduated 3 and are continuing with the 2nd batch (BTW- same husband for all of them). My life revolves around my family. I cook, clean, school my kids, drive them around to various activities, chat with my husband over nightly tea and crash at the end of the day. It probably sounds pretty boring to some but I enjoy it. I have a great network of friends. In fact , I walk daily with one of them at 6:15 AM. After highschool I went to college and continued with the whole party lifestyle. th my life. Through a series of events I ended up becoming a Christian. I didn't need to party to feel good anymore. My perspective on life, death and God really took on a new outlook. I loved highschool because I really loved connecting. There were so many great people to meet and get to know. I wish I could do some things over again differently (don't we all). HS is such an insecure time that sometimes it is hard to get past yourself. And there was such divisiveness-who"s the smartest, funniest, best-looking, most athletic, etc. Every person is so valuable in and of themselves regardless of their accomplishments or looks. That is the message I wish I would've been mature enough to pass along at every opportunity.............
