Suzanne's Story
Life
After high school, I went to Florida Southern College. Graduated with my BA in Early Childhood and Elem Education in 1990. I taught K and 1st for 6 years.
In 1994, my husband Mark and I married.
We have 2 children (Reid and Laurel). I stayed at home for 8++ years (even homeschooled!!!). My children are both in school, and I am back full time as a Reading Intervention teacher at a Reading First school. My family and I live in South Daytona, FL.
That was last year (2005-6). We now (as of June 2006) live in a quaint community outside of Winston Salem, NC. We even saw ...Expand for more
our first snow!! I teach kindergarten, and my children come to school with me.
Workplace
I taught K and 1 my first time around, as a classroom teacher. I had some delightful (and some not so delightful) students! However, I loved staying home with my chidlren! Once my daughter started K, I was ready to return to the classroom. I started part-time as a Reading Intervention teacher, with 2-5 grades. It was perfect for me. This year (2005-2006), I am full-time. I can still work with students, but do not have to worry about all the discipline issues, or getting to lunch on time!
