Suzanne's Story
Life
I spent 5 years in college at Ft. Lewis College, Durango, CO after high school. Graduated in 1970, after taking most of a year out to have a baby (Michael). Got married in 1968 to Gay Kinkade. We lived in Albuquerque while he went to school at UNM, then we moved to Portales, NM so he could go to graduate school. I worked as a lab tech in the Anthropology museum there, and we went on two years worth of Archaeological "digs": I was pregnant the last year there. Gay graduated and we moved to Arizona City, AZ (south of Phoenix), where Patrick was born. Lived there for a year, then moved to Safford, AZ where Gay got a job with the Bureau of Land Management. We had two more children (Travis and Carla), and that gets us thru 1981. Gay and I were divorced in 1987. I have done a number of things besides raising all the kids; manager of a bowling alley, bartender, assistant to the local hospital administrator, and in 1991 I went into partnership with a friend and we owned Arizona Gems & Crystals which was a catalog/wholesale/retail business that supplied jewelry makers with thei...Expand for more
r gemstone and bead supplies. In 2001 I decided to go back to school, and I got a Masters' Degree in Business Administration with a specialty in accounting. I have been working almost every tax season since 2001 for a local CPA. Unfortunately, after spending a small fortune to get that degree, I discovered I hate accounting! Oh well... In 2002 I started as a seasonal employee with the Forest Service as a fire dispatcher, and I go all over the United States to fire locations during fire season. I spend a lot of time in hotels and on airplanes, but it is really lucrative and I only have to work 1/2 the year.
Still not married, or even attached at this point, but still hoping to meet someone so I don't have to come home to an empty house. Pitiful, isn't it?
Update 2/28/16: I have 3 dogs (down from 6, natural attrition), and am now retired from everything except doing a few taxes each tax season. I am trying to do my art full-time, along with redoing the house, refinishing some furniture, landscaping the yard, and visiting 3 grandbabies. Life is definitely never boring.
