Suzanne's Story
Life
After graduating from Loy Norrix High School, I completed two years at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. I then transferred to Michigan State University where I coincidentally shared a suite with Deanna Erickson. I received my B.A. in 1990. I then applied to Western Michigan University, where I received my M.A. in 1992 in Speech & Language Pathology. I moved to Detroit for two years, but missed Kalamazoo. I moved back to the area in 1994. I met my husband three weeks later. We have been married for almost eight years, and have a 4 1/2 year old son, Dakota.
I am still a speech therapist, but I have my own company now. I contract myself out to provide speech therapy to nursing homes, hospitals, home health agencies, and out-patient rehabilitation facilities. My husband Ray is a Quality Assurance Professional for Pfizer. He is working on his M.A. n...Expand for more
ow. We also own two rental properties in student housing. My husband is handy, and decided it might be "fun". I now know how to paint, lay tiles, drywall, etc. It has been nice to work on the properties together.
We live in Kalamazoo, and love it here. We also have a small cottage on Gravel Lake in Lawton. We spend weekends there in the summer and winter. We are on the channel and are close to my in-laws (love having babysitters close by). We boat, snowmobile, travel, and hang out with friends.
I still see several former classmates, including Kathy Simpson, Jamie Price, Shannon Carney, and Deanna Erickson. I also run into people frequently (Meijer seems to be the place it happens most). I would love to hear from anyone from Loy Norrix. It is always fun to catch up.
I think that is all I have to report. Hope to hear from some of you soon.
