Suzanne's Story
Life
I got married in 1967 and settled not far from home. In 1971, my son was born and in 1972 I was relocated with my work to Pennsylvania. My first daughter was born in 1978 and I was divorced shortly after that. I remarried in 1980 and in 1982 I had my youngest daughter. I started in clerical and secretarial jobs which later lead to a supervisory position with Information Technology duties thrown in. In the late 80's I started managing projects (airliens mergers) as well as expanding my skills in IT. In 1992 my husband passed away leaving me with 2 children still in school, so that kept me pretty busy for a few years. Workplace
Right after college I went to work for Bank of Utica as a loan clerk. From there I became an executive secretary for Utica Mutual Insurance Company. Then, in 1969 I moved on to Mohawk Airlines (remember them?), who were bought out by Allegheny Airlines (remember them?), who moved me to Pittsburgh, PA area. Allegheny Airlines became US Airways and in 1968 they outsourced me to Sabre (you know - Travelocity?), but US Airways was still my account (same job - different name). Sabre outsourced me to EDS (Electronic Data Systems) but US Airways was still my account. I'm hoping to retire within the next 4 years.
