Suzette's Story
Hi Everyone!This is Suzette (Ashby)Nance. Alot of time has gone by since the old days at Lincoln. Here is what has happened in my life since those oh so happy carefree days of high school.
I have been married and divorced twice since roaming Lincoln's halls. Everyone knows that I married Jim Taylor when I was still in school. Even though we were married about 3 years we never lived together as man and wife (He was in the military at that time)and things never did come together for us I guess. I was only 17-Didn't know NOTHING about life. We parted and went our seperate ways.(Where ever Jim is I wish him well!)
Later I joined the Job Corp. and thats where I met my second husband George Nance, we were married for 5 years and I have 3 beautiful children, Krystle is 26 married with 2 precious boys. My son David is 23 and my daughter Amber is 21 and they still reside with me. My grandsons are my joy!
After I divorced George (Amber was 6 months old at that time) I came back to Vincennes, went to VU and graduated in 1994 with my Practical Nursing degre...Expand for more
e. It was very hard raising 3 small children and going to collage but with the Lord's help I DID IT!! I got my nursing degree. I worked in Long Term Care up untill Last September when I had a dibilitating accident. Right now I don't know what tomarrow holds for me but I Know Who holds my tomarrows-so I don't worry about it.
My very best friend at Lincoln was David Bowen and I am proud and honored to say that after more than 30 years we are still best friends. His family was and still is my second family.
Even though I did not graduate from Lincoln in 1980 I still consider you all as my classmates. Do you ever wish you could do parts of your life over again? Well that is one of the things I would of changed. I would of stayed in school and got my high school diploma. Sure I got my GED, but I missed out on my high school life. But come to think of it, being Suzette Ashby back then wasn't so wonderful. High school kids can be very mean and crule to each other. There were some nice kids too. I would still would of liked to of graduated with you all.
