Sylvia's Story
1960's were college days...graduated University of Florida with degree in Art and Biology. I had two children during this decade, a daughter Kathy and a son Patrick. I taught art for four years and stopped to raise children.
!970's were club and politics days. I was busy starting projects for library, new schools, forming a GFWC junior club and serving as president and District Director, getting elementary art in schools, serving as county PTA president, etc. My husband was active in Sebastian politics...not necessarily a happy time, but definitely an interesting, productive time.
1980's were my happy years, with a wonderful new husband, traveling and going back to teaching.
1990...Expand for more
's Albert died and I started my real traveling...to Europe for extended summer trips, even a 9 day stay in Moscow by myself during a month trip in '94. When I wasn't headed for Europe, I was going west, north, to nearly every state in the USA. Lonely but very happy years.
2000's started out horribly...fully disabled from a back operation, lost my river home of 32 years to hurricanes, had to retire from teaching because I couldn't do it anymore with the pain, lots of other physical problems...oh, woe is me! but in 2005 I met Doug, moved into a darling house that I love, and happy days are here once more. I love retirement. I'm on facebook and would love to hear from old friends.
