Sylvia's Story
Life
I was previously married to Louie Villarreal, who also graduated from Santa Fe a year ahead of me. Although we were only married a short time we did have a beautiful daughter, Debbie. Tragically, she died in a car accident in 1992, when she was 21. She is missed by all who knew her, she was a beautiful and loving, young woman.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Lou Kern for over 30 years and had 2 sons, Michael and Steven. We have moved from California, to New Jersey, to Chicago, and now have been living in Charlotte, North Carolina for over 10 years. Our son, Michael died very suddenly of viral myocarditis, he was married just short of 2 years and lived very close by. His loving wife was by his side and called us as paramedics were doing all possible to save him. I can't put into wor...Expand for more
ds, how we manage with the loss of another child. Michael had a near drowning at 1 year old, so we were blessed for another 25 years with a very special son who tried to keep Debbie's memory alive through sharing her taste in music and always finding new music to share with me. I miss my 2 angels more than I can bear but try my best to be supportive to my son, Steven who now will never be an uncle and is a now a 21 year old without his siblings. Being a Mom is such a blessing with unique challenges.
I would love to hear from my long lost friends.
School
Mrs. Rollins was my most inspirational teacher. I always remember her "it's never too late" saying. Mr. Kravetz was my absolute favorite teacher. You either loved him or hated him. I was lucky to have had him for 2 history classes and drivers ed.
