Sylvia's Story
Life
Since graduating I became an elementary teacher and married Shawn Ashley. We have a son and four daughters.
After staying home for 13 years I returned to teaching (bilingual kindergarten, bilingual specialist, Reaching Recovery and now first grade dual-immersion). My son is also a teacher for LBUSD and my husband is the current principal of Poly H.S.

My hobbies include quilting, scrapbooking, movies, reading, spending time with my husband and watching my kids perform in music, sports and dance.
College
After High School I went to LBCC and received and A.A. degree. I then transfered to CSUDH where I received my B.A. and Teaching Credential.
I also attended extension courses of CSULB and CSUSan Bernardino for additional work in Language Acquisition and Reading Recovery.
