Sylvia's Story

After graduation moved back to beautiful British Columbia, Canada! Home sweet home! Went to nursing school and graduated with my diploma (RN) in 1981. Found Frank Beekman and married in 1983; going onto 32 years of marriage, not many can say that now a days! Had two wonderful children; Kyle who is 29, married and has two daughters (yes, I am a grandma!) Natalie who is 8 yrs old and Emma who is 4! Samantha is Kyle's wife. Jocelyn is my daughter and she is 24 and is a CEA (Certified Education Assistant). Both our children live in Kelowna, a half hour drive to our home in West Kelowna. uated with my nursing degree (BSN). Nursing has been a wonderful career for me; have worked in the hospital for 16 years, was a home care nurse and a nurse manager in a care home for 7 years. For the last almost 8 years I have been teaching at Okanagan College in the HCA (Health Care Assistant) program. This past year I just graduated with my teaching diploma! Life long learning! We hope to retire in just over 3 years and travel, camp, fish, walk and just enjoy a slower life style! Frank and I visited Anchorage this year and had a wonderful time! Would love to reconnect with some of my high school buddies!
