Tina's Story
I went to Geisbach Jr. High in Geissen Germany while my father was in the Army. We came back August 1976. I was enrolled at Spencer High School for the 10th grade until approximately March of 1977, when I was transferred to Jordan Vocational High School. Many people thought I was a "narc" when I transferred in. I skipped the 11th grade by taking 11th grade English thru Summer School.. I graduated from Jordan in 1978, when I was 16. Short time later I turned 17, and my mother co-signed for me join the Army. I left in November 0f 1978. I found it difficult to "relate"...Expand for more
to my civilian peers since I didn't experience many things they did, while I was in Germany. Also, I came from a strict Military family & life and had to adjust to the civilian world. Obviously, I still didn't adjust since I joined the Army, and thereafter all my jobs were in Government positions, City, State, Federal. Jordan High was a "experience" for me-I did have some good times even though I wasn't well known, popular, or have many friends. I now live in Rio Rancho, N.M. which is a suburb of Albuquerque, and retired as a Letter Carrier from the USPS. Life is good.
