Tahnya's Story
Life
Since I finished college I have been teaching various grades at the elementary level. I currently teach Second Grade at a little school in El Segundo. This will be my 14th year. A year ago I started my own business making customized invitations and party favors called RSVP Invitations. It is a lot of hard work having my own business and doing my other job simultaneously, but I love it! In '04 I married a financial consultant, Daniel Nodar, and we now have a one year old furry child (pug) named Bella. We enjoy her so much that we cannot remember life without her! We live in Pacific Palisades. It is very different from Hermosa Beach, my residence 7 years prior to getting married! My parents left PV and have moved up to Bend, OR. We love visiting them year round as there is so much to do: snowboarding, hiking, rafting, cave splunking... We spend at least a month out of the year up there. School
I am sure you remember my embarrasing moments, if you were in Mrs. Covey's 3rd period Composition class in '86 or if you played Powder Puff Football in '87. If you weren't there, I am not telling!
College
After graduation, I went to UC Riverside and loved it - all five years! I majored in socializing (I mean Psychology). I joined the Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity and served as Corresponding Secretary and Philanthropy Chair. I also was an active member of the InterVarsity chapter, Highlander Christian Fellowship. I also played softball my freshman year for UCR (NCAA Div. II). I decided that there were other things I wanted to persue, so I stopped playing. I continued to play on various slowpitch teams and am currently looking for a team to play for in the West LA area. Any takers? After Riverside, I went to CS Los Angeles to get my Teaching Credential. I haven't been back to school since. I have no desire to go back now.
