Tamara's Story

My name is Tammy McMillian Ashley. I grew up on the northside. Went to Burbank Elem, Burbank Jr High and Sam Houston Sr. High. After I graduated I married Otis Sutton. We lasted one year. Long story. In 73 I married Sid Ashley from Rosenberg. Went to beauty school in Rosenberg, but didn't make my living as a hair dresser. I still cut hair for my family though. I ended u...Expand for more
p waiting tables and bartending and eventually ended up working and caring for the elderly. Love doing that job. Now I'm retired and living next door to my brother Dean McMillian up here in New Braunfels, TX. Love it up here. It's so beautiful and I love the Guadalupe River and the Comal River. Also I love all the live music in this town. So much to do here. I love it.

I lost my friend Keith. He was a Conquistador since the 60's and we went to high school together. This was taken at one of the Giddy Up's. I'll miss him so much. RIP Keith
