Tami's Story

Life I have lived in the Northeast Nebraska area for 21 years. For the past 18 years I have worked as a nail technician, with the last eight being self-employed.I currently working part-time at nails as school allows. In May 2003 I graduated from Northeast Community College with an Associates in Criminal Justice. I am currently a Biology major with Chemistry and Math minors at Wayne State College in Wayne, NE. In May 2008 I graduated from NECC again, this time with a Practical Nursing Diploma. I took and passed my LPN boards in June and currently working for Alegent Clinic in Norfolk as a nurse. I am continuing this next year in order to get my RN and them hopefully work for the hospital My daughter Ashley is 21 and growing up too fast. In April she gave me my first grandchild, a little girl named Harlie. She is the most precious thing I have. Ashley is gong to school at Wayne State College working on a Sociology degree. September 2003 I got remarried to Glenn Kietzmann. He is my soul mate and love of my life. Glenn is a Professor at Wayne State College and a Lay Minister at a small church in Winside. He has 2 daughters 20 and 17, which the youngest splits her time between us and her mother. We spend our spare time on the Harley, breezing down the highway. We love going to Sturgis and were at Milwaukee for the 100th Anniversary. Coming soom I may be riding my own as I have my license and ready to feel the wind. I have learned that life is what you make of it. Everything has a reaso...Expand for more
n for happening, though we may never know the reason. We have to place our faith in God and let him decide how it will be. You also have to have some fun that's why he made Harleys!! College I started my college again in the fall of 2001. After going through my divorce, I needed to find a direction. I always loved a mystery so I figured why not try Criminal Justice? Well, I really enjoyed it. I was the only non-trad in my classes but it made it more of a challenge. I graduated from Northeast Community College in 2003 with my Associates in Criminal Justice.Once I finished that line of schooling, I wanted to add biology. I loved math and science in high school. At Wayne I started with the Biology parts, but first I had to get through Chemisty I & II to ful-fill the gen-ed requirements. I didn't know if I could pull it off. These kids in my classes were young enough to be mine. So much material I had forgotted from high school, I had to relearn it all. But I finished my first year at Wayne with very good grades and an idea what chemistry is all about. I have since completed 3 more years at Wayne. I am working on a biology major with chemistry and math minor. I love learning and am having a great time. I have made alot of new friends, of course they are my daughters age. The Nursing program at NECC was a wonderful opportunity. The instructors were awesome and very easy to get along with. The classes really helped me prepare for boards and I developed the skills needed to succeed in my job.
