Tami's Story

Hey there! Quick synopsis 2009: Married almost 18 years to a cool dude, one son - 17yrs old (skateboarder, guitar player, film-maker). Joined the Navy in 1989 because I was "bored". Went to Orlando, Memphis, Jacksonville, then out to San Diego during Desert Storm. Aviation Electronics Technician on several aircraft - my favorite being the FA-18. My squadron flew as adversaries (migs)against Top Gun's F-14's (where my husband worked). Have to say it was really great. After 6 years, decided for the sake of our marriage and family to get out of the service. We both finished our contracts and moved back to MKE. Did wedding photography for about 6 years (on the side) while doing the same work I did before joining the Navy! Ugh! But..... it works for now since I can work from home supporting a bunch of high paid managers, and still homeschool my son. I have homeschooled him since 2002. Strictly for educational reasons, not religious. He's almost an adult now and I'm really excited to start living "Tami's" life again! I study world religions, history, politics, nature, and anything else that interests me. One thing I need to say in case certain people read this. (I don't have the membership where I can email other classmates). Not sure if anyone else ever feels this way, but I think about the poor kids at West that were picked on so badly. Namely, Hope Dielehner, Maria Bohte (she loved Little House on the Prairie and had knitting needles all the time that she'd threaten to use when bullies got too close!), Eileen Lavicka, Larry Gust, ...Expand for more
Kurt Popa. I want to say that I'm sorry for anything I might have ever said to make fun of them. I can especially relate now, because my son has a mild social disorder called Asperger Syndrome. It causes him to have trouble relating to people in a "normal" way. He's older now and more adaptive. But growing up, he had a really hard time and was horribly misunderstood. His sweet heart would break so often because he just didn't fit in with the "popular" kids. They're ALWAYS the worst, aren't they? Fortunately he had a number of friends to help him. But I don't remember the above classmates having many friends, and I feel really bad for what they went through. I don't think I went out of my way to mess with them, but I didn't avoid it either. I'm truly sorry to all of you. To everyone else out there, thanks for the fun we had in school. Especially: the guys in Geometry (Jerry Z, Rob A, Keith E), Greg Tezak for the motorcycle ride, the girls at lunch (Lori, Sandy, Linda, Jan, Julie, Margaret V), Dennis Wolf, Jeff Henzig, Doc, Darryl & Lil'Mark, & his country sunshine band, Kim J(when you were still there), Gary B (for never being mean to me and tolerating my puppy crush for 4 years!), Kelly G (sorry I got you drunk at the dance!), Mike Strauss for that classic day in Choir when you ROYALLY told off those stuck up girls who were making fun of you - (God that was GREAT!), Candy T for the many years of tennis fun, and lastly for that warning call late in the night on our band trip to Orlando - you know who you are!! Take care everyone!!!
