Tami's Story
Hi everyone. Well, I can't believe that I'm forty-three years old now! When did we all get that old? I lead a very quiet life. I am the mother of a fifteen year old boy who is the apple of my eye. He is a great student (didn't get that from me), a wonderful muscian and has the greatest sense of humor. He is everything I could have hoped for if I had been given three children. High shcool does'nt seem to be his thing so I've decided to home school him for his last three years. It's going to be a challenge for me but I am certainly up for it. I do not work. Since my son was born I have been a stay at home mom. We live in Tulare which is about an hour North of Bakersfield. We really like it here. it catches up. I was married for almost thirteen wonderful years to my husband Michael Herrera. He was my very best friend and we were so happy together. We lost Mike in an accident on the Kern River in July of 2005 and our hearts are broken. He went to Lawndale High School and graduated in 1981. He's been a good friend in my life since I was twelve years old. We have three cats (Scipio, Coco, and Grady) and 2 dogs (Ceasar and Bongo) and we just added a parakeet my son named Umbra. Pets are our lives! I just decided to take a class for animal grooming and may even start my own business when I get enough experience. I've spent the last three years healing, now it's time to live again. I've decided to put my skills to use where my heart lies......with the animals.
