Tami's Story
Life
Where has 20 years gone?? Been married twice, this last time to the most wonderful man for 17 years. I have a 20 year old step-daughter who is the greatest kid a person could ask for. She is off to college in California. I finally finished college last summer. Thought about going back to school yet again to get a masters or a law degree but thankfully have come to my senses.
In addition to our regular jobs, we have somehow managed to find time to run a small herd of cattle, have a catering business, a trucking company, a feed mill, and farm 1200 acres. (Who says you need sleep?) In order to remain sane, we travel to beautiful sandy locations and have one of those fruity drinks with an umbrella.
And I have finally figured out why middle aged people drive around in those sporty cars. It's not because they are trying to regain their youth, it's just that they can finally afford the damn things. (you are only as old as you feel).

Well here we are 3 years away from the 30th year! Lots has changed. There was an explosion at the farm reducing it to simply a grass seed operation. But thats probably best. Millersburg is getting built up with houses. Had to sell the cows because our new neighbors wanted to move into the country without the noises. Had the Sheriffs Office out at 4 am cause one cow was mooing! They only make bark collars for dogs. Havent seen any moo collars. Cripes.
The paper mill is shutting down permanently. My dear husband's job of the last twenty years vanished. Of course the government says things are getting better. Reminds me of McCain on the campaign trail saying there was no recession. I guess if you are independently wealthy you can stick your head in the sand.
I am still at the Sheriff's Office after 20 years. Got up to Captain. Don't care to go any higher. Undersheriff is all discipline. No thanks. I.m not political enough to be Sheriff so This is where I will remain.
