Tami's Story

Life -Sep 2007- I'm currently married and so far I'm loving it. Ray and I aren't planning on having any kids just yet. We'd like to learn how to be married first. :-) We used to swing dance all the time (me more than Ray), but since our engagement, we haven't been out much. Life is just so busy with church activities, and hanging out with friends. We can't do everything! If you want to know more about my life, contact me! :-) School I definitely wouldn't do it all over again. I've changed so much since high school. College and life after college has taught me so much and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Most of my favorite memories are from being in the various bands. When you spend 4 years in concert/symphonic band, pep band, jazz band and marching band, you end up with a lot of memories from them. :-) Although, some of my favorite memories are from Dr. Scott's Calculus class our senior year. There were only 7 of us and for some reason we decided to do a country of the day. Amy Helmick would find out info and write it up on the board and then Travis, Mike and Brian would illustrate it, which usually involved a mushroom cloud. :-) Good times... of course the calculus part wasn't quite as fun (at least for me). College Cedarville University isn't your typical college. Yes, it is a liberal arts school, but it is a Baptist college, which requires every student to get a Bible minor, and they have a fair amount of rules (like curfew). While some people find this too strict, I found it to be helpful for keeping me out of trouble. I've wondered how dif...Expand for more
ferent my life would have been if I had gone to some big state school. But I wouldn't trade my college years. All those Bible classes did challenge me to really figure out what I believe about the Bible and what beliefs my home church (United Methodist at the time) held. This challeneged me to be able to think for myself, which is something that I greatly value. I could probably tell you more, but I'll wait until you ask me. Workplace Before college, I worked on the burger board and Whopper board at Burger King for about 1-1/2 month. Don't we all love our fast food work experience. During summers between college, I worked at AK Steel (formerly Armco) in the Customer Service office as administrative help. That was great experience to get me ready for after college. My first job after college at ATM ServNet was the crappiest job ever. The idea that started the company was great, but the management was very poor. I left there knowing exactly what I don't want in a job. My next job as an Administrative Assistant at CBC Engineers started off better than the previous one. I actually found it through a temp agency. Great experience, but the only boss I liked working for left, which left me working for 2 that I really didn't like at all (I'd say more but I could talk for hours about it). So then I followed that boss to my current job as an Office Manager at BBC&M Engineering. He eventually left, but the whole company has quality management and I really enjoy working here. Imagine, a company that actually cares about its employees. I'm so blessed to be working here.
