Tamara's Story
Life
I have three great kids that keep me sane--Nick, 32, graduated with a degree in Communications from UB and is employed as a General Manager at the Tailwater Lodge in Altmar. He owns a home and has a lovely girlfriend, Katie; Cassie, 27, graduated from Phillips Hairstyling Academy in Syracuse, is a manager at a local salon and she and her BF, Ryan, are parents to RJ, 4; Thomas, 20, is a student at OCC and works full-time at the Genesee Grande. He has a lovely GF, Alexx, who is also working her way through college. I reconnected with my husband, Andy Caruso (Class of '80) so now I can add his kids to my list--Andrew,28, graduated from Phillips with Cassie, and was promoted to an on-the-road sales position which he loves. He and his wife, Karen, are parents to Arianna, 5 and Layla, 3; Chelsea, 28, is a busy mom to Trinity, 7, Elijah, 5, Summer, 4 and JJ, 2. She and her fiance, Justin, share a home in Baldwinsville; Alex, 26 , works at Advance Auto Parts and just spent a week with our furboy, Sprocket, while we were in Disney; Aaron,17, is finishing up his junior year at Baker and has become quite the authority on Sports. Andy and I are busy, tired and very grateful for this very loud extended family. Christmas gets a little crazy and we are lucky that everyone gets along. Don't know what I want to be when I grow up (Peter Pan is my favorite Disney movie--go figure) but I'm thankful for this life. I work in an office building in Syracuse. I love the people I work with but it doesn't fulfill my creative side so my goal is to do something with my photography and to finally write my book. Slow but sure. Friends and family are a big part of my life. I am enjoying this new chapter......in fact, I'm looking forward to an entire novel. Andy is my one true love. porch, holding hands and sleeping head to head. Life is short-Let's dance. :) Life is a never-ending to-do list. I will never be done because I will always experience life. Andy and I share the home that I grew up in. We are very comfortable here. He made me his wife on May 15, 2010. A very good decision, indeed.
School
I wish I could say I would do things differently if I had it to do over again (hindsight is 20/20), but truthfully, my experiences have molded me into the person I am today and I like that person. Some of those experiences were trying and some I thought I'd never make it through intact, but here I am sharing my life with an amazing man. He is my soulmate. I knew him in high school and I'm grateful we've reconnected and developed a warm and respectful relationship. This is it--I don't need to look any further when I've already found the one. As the song says, he is unforgettable.
College
I attended CCBI for a year after high school, then got married, so I never had that college experience. I have been a student at OCC (Harvard on the hill) and I hope to return eventually. It will take me forever to get my Bachelor's, but the accomplishment will be worth it. I will be a writer. I have enough to work with considering what Andy and I have both been through. I suppose I'd have to call it fiction, but I swear, I just couldn't make this stuff up!
Workplace
I was a stay-at-home mom for many years, and I loved it. I was so happy with being with my kids all the time. I did extras like babysitting and selling Avon and Tupperware. In 1997, when my kids were a little older, I started working part-time at The Disney Store. Now my goal is to be a writer and photographer. Think Grandma Moses--if she can do it beyond prime, so can I. Until then, I will be an office diva to pay the bills.
