Tammi's Story
I am now a grandmother of three! My eldest is about to enter kindergarten. I hope she has as much fun as I did in elementary school. That was where I discovered my passion for art, music, and the english language. I moved away from the Dallas area about 25 (yikes!!! ) and found I really miss the people I grew up with and hoped to reconnect with some of you guys. I won numerous art awards at Clara Oliver and acted in all the plays. At TG Terry, I had alot of my poetry published in the Terry Tribune, and my artwork was all over the school, along with Daniel Callahans cartoons! I was in the select choir whom Mr Dodd directed at WH Atwell. Also, I was a bit of a rebel in jr high. There are so many people I would love to hear from. Like Mary Hensley and Mary Sue Hyndeman, known as Susie. Also, Vickie DeMateo, and Ricky Lerro. Can anyone help me out w/ these names? As an adult, I worked for JC Penney and then later, for Williams-Sonoma. I am getting back into artwork these days, as a hobbie. Anyone remember Mrs Maxim, an art teacher at Atwell? Or Mr Shaffner, a science teacher at the same ...Expand for more
school?
I attended college and studied Interior Design, and later, office and computers. I also married, raised 2 great kids, and divorced. I am now painting in my spare time, and find it very rewarding, because I have always loved art.
I always wanted to be a artist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right!.
I take a long walk or bike ride
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, a scratch pad, and computer to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
I love Peter Max, the psychedelic artist of the 60's/ Also, Claude Monet and all of the great masters/ I also like Salvador Dali's work/
My first job was at The Capri Theater, where I got paid 3.00 an hr to work the concession bar. What I remember most about it is Peter Fonda showed up to promote a new movie, but it was not "Easy Rider".
I really enjoyed performing in school plays. I was Goldilocks at Clara Oliver and later, one of the dancing scarecrows and the understudy for the Wicked Witch of the West! Great fun!!!
I love to walk my dogs and swim as often as possible!
