Tammy's Story

After school I worked and eventually met and married my husband. We were married in 87, Ashley was born in 88 and Andrew in 89. I stayed home with the kids while they were little and worked part time in various jobs. We have lived in several homes in Eau Claire. We enjoyed buying older homes and renovating them before the term "flipping" was coined. Eventually we built south of Eau Claire and we continue to live there. I returned to school after my mom passed away. I had been a superviser in transportation and when she was diagnosed with cancer, took a leave of absence to care for her. I lived in her home for 5 months and my husband and kids lived in our home (he's a good guy). Hospice came in during the ...Expand for more
last few days and took wonderful care of both of us, and I knew at that moment that nursing is what I wanted to do. So, now I'm a nurse in critical care at Luther hospital and I do love it. My daughter is living and working in Eau Claire, and my son is in the Marine corp and currently schooling in Cherry Point, NC. He is working to become a Harrier AV8 mechanic. Just as we thought we were about to become empty nesters, my father could no longer live alone, so in he moved. He has lived with us for a year now. We have 4 dogs and 1 cat, and my husband prefers I stay away from the humane association because homeless or neglected animals are my weekness. In our free time we enjoy boating, camping and football.
