as a breast cancer survivor, I am trying to change legislation to make it standard protocol that says if a woman has a mammogram and is diagnosed with dense breast tissue she has to be given all of her risk factors, including what additional tests are available to her as recommended by the American College of Radiology.

There is one state that has the law in effect, Connecticut. I have a state senate sponsor for the next legislative session, March 2011 where the Senate Bill will come up for voting.
I have also teamed together with 6 additional women and formed D.E.N.S.E.
Density Education National Survivors Effort
We are 7 women who were misdiagnosed, 7 women with breast cancer and we were told we were fine and we weren't. 7 women who are trying to change the law so we can educate all women.
