Tammy's Story
I was in TAOTA...Hourskeeper, President and gofer for Mrs. Hansen! HAHA! Friends with a lot of the "cool" kids but kind of awkward and nerdy on my own. Loved Mr. Stratton's classes (sorry to hear about his tragic death years ago), drama, Mr. True and Mr. Bowman (even though I sucked at science...kind of funny since I ended up in a medical profession!). I was in the Navy for 8 years (13 counting Reserves), and have lived in Fla, Ill, Md(a couple of times), Tx (a couple of times), Ca, Ga,and Mo since I graduated. I have a grown daughter who is my very best accomplishment! She is married and recently had my first grandchild...see photo! The Class prediction for me was that I would still have stagepaint on my hands at our reunion...never been able to go, but I am still very crafty, especially in scrapbooking, digital scrapbooking, and storybooking. I have always loved traveling, and am blessed to have been to every State, and several countries. I remember Mr. Stratton telling me, "carpe deim...Expand for more
" well before "Dead Poet's Society" and I have taken it to heart...it has served me with opportunity and experience I would never have gained if I had stayed in KC. I love visiting my Mom and brothers when I go back home, but honestly, I have severe allergies to most of the pollens there and it is difficult for me to stay very long. I'm in West Texas now, and it suits me for the time being. I dream of living in Ketchikan or Sitka, AK, but now that I am a Granna, I don't suppose I will be able to drag myself away! I keep in touch with Jeanne Marsh and, occasionally, Tony Middleton. My "gang" at THS was a mix of TAOTA members and Chess Club members...Jeanne, Tony, Mark Morgan, Ted Williams, Jack Higginbotham, Pam Yeary,Chuck Matney, Debbie Bledsoe, Jim Kill, Mimi Thebo, Cindy Frogley, Cindy Frolin, and some others I can't remember the names of right now. Wow! That is way more than I intended to write! Probably not too many people will read it anyway. I don't suppose many people remember me!
