Tammy's Story

Has anyone noticed that the Q&A is extremely leading??? So, what -- if our lives don't fit into one of those little checked boxes, does that make them trivial?? Just a little annoying, if you ask me (not that you did!). For instance, I really have no idea how people perceived me during high school nor do I particularly care. Probably uptight and driven, but I don't think that was one of the selections!! Why not, instead of the dummied-down boxes, give us an opportunity to type our OWN descriptions/answers?! (Ok, I'm done with the rant!!) But wait -- this IS my opportunity to avoid the dummy-boxes -- Yea!! So I suppose I will get on with it: I am happily married to Mr. Marcus H. Anderson and will be celebrating 22 years this November. We have been blessed with 4 beautiful children: Rachel, 17; Stephen, 15; Sarah, 13; Rebekah, 11. I know -- THREE teen-agers!!! What were we thinking?? Actually, time has gone too fast with my oldest graduating from Whittier Christian High School next year and my youngest entering 6th grade. No more Mommy & Me -- just "Mom, can you take me...."!! Quite sad, in a way. Yet there is the liberating side -- getaway weekends with my honey, no more baby sitters, more than one cook in the house (not to be confused with Marc or Rachel!!)....oh, and now that Rachel is driving, l...Expand for more
ess frequent drop-offs and pick-ups!! Marc & I actually met at the church we still attend: Heritage Family Fellowship in Anaheim, CA. The Lord has been so very good to us!! Every life has its ups and downs, but when your foundation is on THE Rock (Matt 7:24-27) failure isn't an option. And we have experienced His Strength time and time again!! There is a praise song that says, "When I think of all His goodness and what He's done for me, when I think of all His goodness and how He's set me free, when I think of all His goodness and what He's done for me, I want to dance (sing, praise) all day and all night!!" That sums up my heart toward my Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ. Marc & I are currently involved in the personal care ministry at the church (we're the ones who meet with anyone who comes forward to receive the Lord during or after service and follows up with them afterward). I have also been involved in the music ministry for the majority of the past 20 years. While I am taking a bit of a break from the praise team, it is such a joy to see my oldest (Rachel) praising the Lord with her beautiful voice in the Teen Praise Band. Stephen plays the drums and sings as well. My Sarah is becoming quite proficient on the acoustic guitar while Rebekah enjoys playing the clarinet in the school band.
