Tammy's Story

Life Since high school, I continued to work at Petals & Inc, as a bridal and pageant consultant, working with young women from arcoss the nation as they prepare for local, state, and national competitions. I even became the national evening gown sponsor for Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, designing their Miss Universe wardrobe and appearance pieces for the year. Having left Petals & Lace four years ago, I continue working in pageantry as a consultant, judge, wardrobe designer, and volunteer. I even co-direct a local pageant I helped start last year with a friend, Lynnette Cole, Miss USA 2000. Together we prepare and sponsor a Teen and Miss delegate for the Miss Tennessee USA and Teen USA pageant and throughout the year we book appearances for them locally. Outside of pageantry, I work at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, where I over-see the daily operations of two of their ladies boutiques, while working on marketing and promoting the department to the local public. I plan local fashion shows, book cosmetic seminars, make appearances on TV and radio, work as a stylist on photoshoots and hire myself out as a personal shopper. Basically, I am there to do whatever it takes to make money for the retail department and get them recognized by Nash...Expand for more
villians. I love my work. Everyday is different and it is whatever I choose to make it. Unitmately, I hope to re-locate on a temp basis to hire and train someone to do my same work at the Gaylord Texan, Gaylord National and later California. In the meantime, I love taking classes. I am forever signing up for additional training through Gaylord University. A company as large as they are, they obviously offer some wonderful programs, so I take advantage of everyone of them. I also volunteer my time to the Frist Center, TPAC, RASAC, Cheekwood and Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee. On the weekends, you can always find me somewhere listen to music and hanging out with friends. If I could wish for one talent, I would sing or write lyrics. Music is truly my first love. I moved to Bellevue about three years ago, where both my parents and younger sister, paula, live. I continue to attend worship services in Brentwood at Bethel World Outreach. I am still single. I have come close to marriage a couple of times, but the timing was never right for me personally. I am happy and enjoy my life, maybe too much, just the way it is. My friends continue trying, though. However, it would take a very special person to convince me to make that change.
