Tamra's Story
Life's been an adventure. Everyone has their story, and I've been encouraged to write a biography, hehe.
Minimally perhaps some short stories. I was married for 35 years to my high school sweetie until we parted in 2012. During that time some highlights included, raising 2 awesome children, being a pioneer in my field of Dental Hygiene, International Persian Cat breeder/exhibitor, Baseball,Football,Softball and Dance super mom. Personal growth mentor in holistic therapies and alternative health modalities. Later I was a Horse Trainer/coach, Real Estate Broker, and Dental Hygienist (all at the same time). Travels included Europe, Brazil, and most of the United States. I lounged in nearby Bagby and Brientenbush hotsprings, met people from all nations and learned I enjoyed philosophy, and mentoring others to fulfill goals. I've had the priviledge to build my dream Equine center only to loose it all in the 2008 economic down turn. Which took me to work on the North Slope of Alaska. Barrow is an Inupiat Village with numerous outlying Bush villages. I worked 230-260 hours a month in clinic while also creating and implemented dental prevention programs. I expanded my training in Grant writing, Oral health impact studies and native culture.
These In combination with expanded clinical skills allowed me to be granted the 1st Collaborative agreement for RDH's in Alaska. The local health care program refused to collaborate with the approved but innovative practice, so, I took a position in Anchorage. Loved my work, friends...Expand for more
etc..but where after several months, I became a Bear attack survivor. So, late 2012 I came back to Oregon to be closer to my family, 4 grandchildren Neurosurgery for back fusion and continued the "dating game" At 52, that perhaps was the wildest adventure of all! I came to understand, it was my time. My "strong Bio/resume" scared off some great men. But I wasn't about to have less than what I had already experienced. I'd been blessed to have shared love with a partner, once in my life. But as the Universe always reminds me "never say never" and the word can't doesn't exist. So, in 2014 the kindness of a simple bucket of Cherries, home grown roses and a fellow spirit of life brought marriagable love back into my life. In the last year, John and I camped, traveled, hiked, lounged in natural hot springs, watched the Ocean, eaten from our organically grown garden and beef, mentored some rodeo court contestants, spent time with family and I golfed a Hole in One! Still more adventures coming. What a beautiful life.
One of my favorite quotes by Yogi Berra "When you come to a fork in the road, take it" .
And a quote from a close friend " In life, Tamra makes lemonade from lemons."
"I am strong because I know weakness,
I am compassionate because I have experienced suffering,
I am alive because I am a fighter,
I am wise because I've been foolish,
I can laugh because I have known sadness.
I can love, because I 've known loss.
I have weathered many storms but still LOVE to dance in the rain." (With Joy and Purpose)
