Tara's Story
Life
This is my formal bio:
Tara Klena Barthel most recently served as the Director of the Institute for Christian Conciliation, a division of Peacemaker Ministries. As such, she oversaw the delivery of conciliation services through its international network of trained conciliators. Tara also provided oversight and leadership for all advanced conciliator training, including the ICC Reconciler Training Program, and the ICC Certification Program. Currently, she serves her family as a homemaker, and regularly serves as a mediator, arbitrator, and instructor in Christian conciliation. Tara speaks frequently at womenÂs conferences and retreats. Prior to moving to Billings, Montana to join the staff of Peacemaker Ministries, she worked as an attorney and business consultant in Chicago. Tara earned her law degree and M.B.A. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and her B.A. in psychology from Augustana College (Illinois). tors for the Montana Christian Legal Society, an Adjunct Instructor and Certified Christian Conciliator with Peacemaker Ministries, and a special consultant to Christian ministries (such as Wycliffe Bible Translators and the Center for Biblical Counseling and Education). Tara has served on three short-term missions projects (Estonia, Slovenija, and Outer Mongolia) and she enjoys SCUBA diving with her husband, Frederick.
More informally, I returned to Geneva, Ohio, the summer after I took the Bar Exam. It was amazing to see the downtown area, Uncle Tom's Cabins, Sonny Lanes, etc. We moved around so much in my childhood that I never lived anywhere for more than two years or so. Except for Rock Creek, Ohio. (And later, no longer with my family, in Morris, Illinois.) I have always wondered about the kind and gracious people who touched my life during those difficult years -- do they know how much they meant to me? I hope so. And now I look for people to encourage and bless too.
