Tara's Story
Life
I recieved my degree in Chemical Engineering from GA Tech and was recruited to New Jersey where I met my husband. I soon realized I was better suited to very creative work and took Journalism classes at NYU while continuing in the role of at-home mother to my three young kids.
I have been working as an Editorial Director since early 2007. Before that I was the managing editor of a healthcare newspaper since 2004, and before that I was the managing editor of a local paper called the Examiner. I had started as a reporter/writer at that company in 2003.
I hope to one day write novels, childrens books, non-fiction, but particularly want to work on documentary film-making. Anything creative where I feel I can make a difference is great with me. I would like to get an advanced degree and work as a college professor. Maybe I can find time in the summer to write then. But my kids keep me very busy for now.
I divorced in 2003. I still live in NJ but one day hope to move somewhere south of here.

much. I wish I had written for the school newspaper and had actually studied. I have spent the last several years reading and trying to make up for what I never learned. I hope I don't let my kids goof-off as much as I did.
Still, I have fond memories of High School.
College
I started out at Southern Tech and finished my degree in Chemical Engineering at GA Tech in 1994. I then realized I didn't enjoy the field and have since taken classes in Psychology and lately Journalism, which I feel at-home with.
I hope to take some courses in writing books or in documentary film-making, which is a true passion for me.
Workplace
I worked for 5 years at National Starch and Chemical Co. in Bridgewater, NJ. I only liked the last year there when I switched to creative work. I left when I had my first child so I could be at-home with her. Now I have 3 kids, but decided to go back to school for Journalism.
I currently work as an editor for a newspaper called Managed Care Consultant-First Report. It is a national monthly healthcare publication based in NJ.
