Taylor's Story
So, I did this entry some time back, but it seems to have disappeared, and the editor in me never sleeps,
The short story, I grew up and lived in Texas until my 17th birthday. My best development was while I lived with my grandparents, on their ranch or in the small town they lived in, Toyah, But, I had to go to school, so that happened in El Paso while living with my mother, which got a bit disrupted; so I went to El Paso HS, then Jefferson HS in San Antonio, and finished on time (58) at Shoreline HS in Seattle, where I had moved to live with my father and stepmother just north of Seattle arriving 9/28/57. This move was my last chance to show that I was not just another JD. I had the smarts to show that I was not what some of my earlier behavior indicated.
Since then, the Pacific NW has been home, with a few strays away to Portland U and Arizona State for graduate school. From 1965 to 1973 I taught social studies and math at Kent Meridian HS before the last school venture to ASU, where I completed my doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 1973. wer to my dreams; unfortunately it was the answer to my nightmares, so I went from there to Alaska, where I worked for 7 years, met my second wife (now 42 years of marriage, so it seems to be working for us), and returned to Washington in '85, where I have worked as a Psychologist since 1985 in Corrections and in the Public Schools. I retired officially at the end of June, 2009, but still have some work in me. Retirement has not cured boredom or procrastination, so I remain available for work. Since then I got my knees and eyes fixed, so am enjoying a better, more active life
My one daughter is a Paramedic in Baton Rouge and may move into an RN program while working there. She has since moved on in her life to marriage to Jerry Hagler, and they now live in Memphis where Jerry is compoeting his Residence. They have two little girls, everly and Lively, and are expecting a son in July, Asher Holmes Hagler. The joys of Grandparenthood abound.
Along the way, I learned to build boats, so part of the R plan is finishing some projects and getting set up to do some serious boatbuilding. Best laid plans must include rehabbing my porch, deck, gallery, whatever. Even treated wood does not last forever, especially if it gets pressure washed.
