Teal's Story

Thinking maybe I can do this in bits & pieces; let's see how it goes... I was born & raised in Charlotte, ever the Queen City, but much more compact back then & a wonderful place to grow up. Lived on Park Rd from age 2 til age 12 in a neighborhood along Sugar Creek with lots of woods to roam about. Molly & Billy Transou, Vicky & Becky Green, Andrea & Lanie Anderson, David, Brad, & Joy Cox....the neighborhood gang. We all went to Pinewood Elementary the 1st year it opened. Brownies & Boy Scouts; tree houses & baseball gam...Expand for more
es; playing outside every possible minute of every day; climbing the cherry tree whenever there was a pie to be made; watermelon on the Transou's picnic table; joint birthday parties; playing dress-up; in & out of the house through our bedroom windows on perfect spring days, when we were supposed to be napping-I don't know why Mom said she was exhausted; nearly daily trips to the pool in summer with as many kids as the Nash station wagon would carry. Good times for my brother, Frank, and I. Life was safe and happy......
